Feeling Good!
After completing the cleanse and eating very, very well (comparitively speaking) - I did splurge on Friday with Valentine's chocolates. I followed a day of Valentine nibbling with a yummy Chinese stir fry of Chicken, Snow Peas and Green Beans - suprisingly, I wasn't even tempted to ask for rice or a soda! Amazing!
I woke up this morning and ate a bowl of blueberries/blackberries along with some cream of wheat and water. Followed that delicious breakfast up with a 5K run - my first ever! I was really nervous, and somewhat thankful I was attempting this alone so I could set my own pace and tune everything/everyone else out. Running across the finish line 7 minutes ahead of my goal time made me feel so confident.
Next weekend I'm hiking the San Tans and the following weekend I'm running another 5K in Tempe. This could be a healthy new addiction!

Post Cleanse
I was so aware of what I consumed today, and surprisingly didn't run straight for a soda this morning. Instead I was so excited to eat my fruit salad for breakfast. I bought Stevia in a drop bottle yesterday and now smile to myself that it was one of Bob's suggestions this morning, and I bought it 12 hours before he said it!
Breakfast consisted of strawberries, blackberries and blueberries
Lunch was an amazing salad with bell peppers, jicama, corn, carrots and Romaine lettuce, topped with cherry balsamic vinegar and EVOO. I even sauteed the corn/jicama in a bit of coconut oil the night before - I feel so advanced in my efforts - Bob is rubbing off on me!
Dinner was a quick run to Subway- 6" whole wheat, lettuce, onion peppers, 2 slices of cheese, mustard and vinegar, along with baked potato chips and diet soda.
Throughout the day, I consumed one cup of coffee and water - I'm making progress!
I'm looking forward to weighing in tomorrow morning. Curious to see if I gained any weight back, for some reason I think I may actually weigh a pound or so less since I had to go to the bathroom almost every hour today.

Success!!!!
Weighed in at 156.6 - a loss of 6.8 pounds in 3 days!
I grumbled and moaned through the experience, but it was well worth it.
Bob, can I do this monthly or quarterly? Will it have the same effect with repetition?
Lessons learned:

Lessons learned:
- eat the egg and orange together
- buy bottled water - I struggled on day 2 with tap water, yet drank all 80oz on day 1 & 3 with bottled (cold) water
- don't focus on what I'm NOT eating, focus on how good the food is that I am eating
- it's okay to exercise on the cleanse, it didn't impact me negatively as much as I anticipated
Thanks Bob for kicking me in the pants (figuratively) and squeezing my fat (literally)!

Day 3
Again, I woke up feeling typical, so I really do believe that the last attempt at the cleanse was muddied by illness rather than the cleanse itself. I'm following Bob's suggestion of not splitting my AM meal.
AM- (5:20)
1 small orange
2 Hard-boild eggs
Hoping to drink full bottle of water on the way to work (got half of it down)
17 oz water
Mid day- (11)
1 small orange
2 Hard-boild eggs
17oz water
Workout
(Bob, can you edit or add it in?)
Warm-up:
100 push ups
100 mtn climbers
Reps:
12 spiderman push-ups
5 high windmills
15 Squat/Raise (can't remember the name)
15 Supermans
Repeat Reps
12 oz water
PM:
24 oz water
I went to Sprouts tonight and bought my "first meal" fixings and I can't wait to eat tomorrow! I bought blackberries, blueberries, strawberries along with the best ingredients for a yummy salad: jicama, corn, red & yellow bell peppers along with a great salad blend. Can you tell I'm salavating?

Day 2
Not as motivated as I was yesterday. However I was so pleased to wake up feeling typical as opposed to the last attempt a month ago when I woke up day 2 in a pool of sweat with the room spinning.
So, I headed off to work and fell into a major caffeine withdrawl. I think I stayed in this funk until midday (I took a small coffee at this point as I really wasn't functioning in a safe manner).
AM- (5:20)
1 small orange
Mid AM- (7:45)
2 hard-boiled egg whites
16 oz water
Cheat: 1/2c coffee, no cream or sugar
Lunch- (11:20)
1 small orange
2 hard-boiled egg whites
16 oz water
By 5pm I'm feeling majorly down and have no will power to continue the cleanse. I have no energy and know that I still have 5 more hours of awake time. So, I debate between throwing in the towel or cheating. Throwing in the towel and eating a big dinner sounds so inticing. I follow my brain, rather than my stomach, and drink another 16oz water - it does NOTHING for my craving to binge. My kids come out of dance class with valentine candy, and I eat some. So, now I've cheated again - ten little message hearts. At this point I normally say, we'll you've screwed up so may as well eat everything else I want to eat. Thankfully Bob's voice is in the back of my head reminding me to think about how this will impact my future, and my cheat stops at ten candies rather than the box of mac n' cheese I'm cooking for my kids.
PM- (5:45)
3.5 oz chicken breast grilled on George
Surprisingly, I'm feeling upbeat again - I think the 6 hour break between meals caused my earlier crash.
One rib of celery
I'm struggling through another bottle of water - it's getting really dull - I'm 1.5 bottles short of my goal for the day. Hopefully I can drink those before bed.

Cleanse Day 1
Weighed in at 163.4
Breakfast:
1 small orange
16 oz water
Mid-AM:
2 hard-boilded egg whites
160z water
Lunch:
1 small orange
2 hard-boiled egg whites
16oz water
Mid-PM:
16oz water
Dinner:
3.5oz Chicken Breast
Small handful raw spinach with squeeze of lemon
16oz water
I'm not hungry, but I am certainly aware now of how much I eat a day out of boredom/habit/social pressure, etc. When I stopped to run errands I almost bought a starbucks just because it seemed like it was a shopping requirement. I was very proud that I avoided two major temptations: shopping at 99 cent store, lots of good candy! and nibbling on my husbands open bag of tortilla chips. I know I wasn't hungry for either, but still had to talk myself out of reflexively grabbing for something to chew on.

Well, here's my first ever novice attempt at writing a blog, or a glob as my sis calls it. This is for 100% selfish reasons, Bob. You think it may be for reflection, but I guarantee you it's not. You see, if I don't have an audience to keep myself accountable I will cheat. You may be saying something deeply philosophical right now like "you're only cheating yourself," but that's just pure bs as far as I'm concerned. I've been known to eat a meal before going out so I can appear like I'm under control when eating in front of others, but I'm certainly not in control of my eating.
So, I'm starting fresh today by following the 3 day cleanse. Not sure what I'll do on day 4, but it has to be better than how I ate last weekend.
Oh, and if this blog and cleanse weren't enough newness in my life, I'm also tackling a 5K this weekend. To put that in perspective, let me just say that my high school mile was 20 mins and I followed that up with 15 year hiatus from running! I have run a 12 minute mile, once. And, I ran 2 miles recently in half an hour... haven't run again since then. Saturday should be so much fun!!
